Visiting French entomologist Gilles Flutsch’s butterfly collection
Paris, France - November 2022
Gilles Flutsch is a French entomologist living in Ile de France- not that far from Paris, but far enough away to appreciate the rhythm of the countryside.
For more that 60 years, Gilles has shown great dedication to his curiosity about the world of insects. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Cetoniimania, a collection of books dedicated to the Cetoniidae subfamily of beetles, and has traveled overseas to study and collect insect specimens from all seven continents.
After exploring the Jama Coaque Reserve on the Pacific coast of Ecuador, I was excited to visit this private collection and expand my knowledge and understanding of the butterfly world. Thank you to Gilles for this enriching experience!
